Karkala Young Woman Allegedly Abducted and Assaulted, Suspicions of Drug Mafia Arise

Udupi: A young woman was allegedly abducted by a group of four men, drugged, and sexually assaulted in a remote area of Ranganpalke, Koudur village, in Karkala on Friday.

She was later discovered unconscious and taken to the Taluk Government Hospital for treatment. One suspect, identified as belonging to a minority community, has been arrested. Reports suggest that after the assault, the assailants returned the woman near her home before fleeing the scene.

In response to the incident, leaders and activists from local Hindu organizations gathered at the Karkala police station, voicing their anger and concern. They suspect the involvement of drug and religious conversion mafias in this case. Authorities are actively conducting a search operation to apprehend the remaining suspects.
